- Geographic Distribution: North America, Africa, Europe, East Asia, Australia, South America
- Favorable Conditions: Hot, humid conditions. Normally day time temperatures above 80 F(27 C) and night time temperature remain above 70 F (21 C). With basal rot anthracnose, infection can occur to the crown when the turf is under stress.
- Hosts: Annual Bluegrass (Poa annua), Creeping Bentgrass (Agrostis stolonifera),
- Symptoms: Symptoms initially appear as irregular patches of yellowish turf that turn to a bronze to orange color. Black fruiting structures (acervuli) can appear on the leaf sheath, leaf or crown.
