Control Strategies

  • Cultural Control: Buckhorn plantain can be removed mechanically, but care must be taken to be sure that all of the root system is removed. Maintain a healthy stand of turfgrass by properly fertilizing and controlling insects and diseases. Keep soil pH between 6.5 and 7.0.


  • Chemical Control: Selective postemergence herbicides may be used in spring or fall during periods of active growth
