Control Strategies
- Cultural Control: Mechanical removal is not recomended, as this may actaully increase infestation by plants regenerating from residual pieces of stems and roots. Maintain a dense stand of turfgrass.
- Chemical Control: Selective postemergence herbicides may be used in spring or fall. Best control is with fall applications. Spring appications should be made early in the season.
